UNFOLD INTO FULLNESS WITH
LISA TAMBLYN BERGMAN
I am forever learning to live and move and have my being in the precious awareness and presence of my true identity.

I offer spiritual counseling, companioning, and direction in the comfort of a homey private practice. I had the joy of sharing physical space with Roman, my precious therapy dog, for many years. He has passed on, and now shows up in different ways.. I miss him. He was a therapy dog through and through. I participate in a regular rhythm of Counseling and Spiritual Direction trainings. I love the way God shows up in all of it.

Lisa and Roman the Therapy Dog
I grew up in the ’60s and ’70s in the Great Lake State near Detroit. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Michigan, I traveled to Colorado, where I worked hard, played harder, and met my first husband. We returned to the Great Lake State and settled in Grand Rapids. We did our best to raise our two beloved children. They are my greatest life teachers.

After 20-plus years of working in corporate, non-profit, and small business realms, I opted to shift gears. I obtained a master’s degree in counseling from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary and Certification as a Spiritual Director from Dominican Center, also in Grand Rapids. I got divorced and remarried during this tumultuous shift as well. My journey thus far has taken me to high heights and low lows. I am learning to trust God in the midst of whatever comes.
I have the sacred privilege of walking alongside people as they allow their deepest pain to become passageways into hope-filled new life. My deepest desire is for all people to live in the fullness of their unique identity in Christ, and flourish in healthy, thriving, mutual relationships.

I have worked as a therapist for several mental health and addiction organizations over the years and facilitated recovery groups and spiritual direction retreats. Embracing an overall person-centered approach to therapy, it is my joy to walk alongside people as they become aware, accepting, and willing to live their inner truth as they continue to heal and fully live in recovery from trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, and many other expressions of un-wholeness.
